FAQ - Questions - Reviews on F1 Racing Seats
- Where are the best seats for the F1 race at the Nurburgring?
Which grandstand is best at the Nurburgring to see overtaking and be closest to the cars? Thanks in advance for answers.

A The hairpin at the bottom end of the circiut is good as you will see each car for at least 10 seconds each lap and some of the best overtaking moves will take place there
- i believe narain karthikeyan is much talented than karun chandhok, then how come karun is racing in f1?
i want to know whether the driver has to pay any amount to FIA to get a drive seat or driver should pay amount to the team to which they are racing? i was told fernando alonso getting much salary this year? even fernando alonso has to pay for his team for driving or what? on what basis this selection has been done?who gets benefitted in F1, the driver or the team or FIA.

A One question at a time: >i believe narain karthikeyan is much talented than karun chandhok, then how come karun is racing in f1? Easy... what you believe has no bearing on how teams choose their drivers. But there are many factors used to determine who gets a drive, some to be mentioned shortly. But consider that Karthikeyan has had opportunities and shown at least enough to be a potential journeyman driver in F1. Solid, but nothing more. Chandhok, even if his pace were not quite on par with Karthikeyan has more potential (and there is not yet anything to indicate his pace is less). >i want to know whether the driver has to pay any amount to FIA to get a drive seat or driver should pay amount to the team to which they are racing? Drivers pay a fee connected to their competition licenses which would be a nominal amount compared to the money involved in F1 (probably somewhere in the $50-100 dollar range each year or every few years). As for the teams, drivers seldomly pay teams directly but often obtain their seats by being able to bring sponsors to the team (essentially the driver is sponsored and the team gets that money if the driver has a seat with them). >i was told fernando alonso getting much salary this year? even fernando alonso has to pay for his team for driving or what? Top teams have no interest in signing drivers based on their ability to provide money. Top teams have sponorship in place for much larger amounts than they could fund otherwise. However, those funds come and go depending on the teams results. Therefore they pay outright for their drivers in order to get the best drivers - ones that are capable of winning races (Alonso, Schumacher, Hamilton, etc - they may have sponorships too, but they simply get this money in addition to their high salaries). even fernando alonso has to pay for his team for driving or what? As just said, no, he receives paid outright by Ferrari as he is a two time world champion, and someone capable of winning of third if given a competitive car. Though Ferrari's expectations of Alonso (ie, winning a championship) is very different than the expecation of Hispania for Chandhok (not finishing last a few times). >on what basis this selection has been done? Drivers are judged on what they've achieved at lower levels, pace shown in testing opportunities, and ultimately race results! Alonso showed great pace for the car he was driving ever since he's been in F1. Likewise for most of the top drivers. This opens many doors (although some start in the same situation of needing to provide sponsor dollars to get a drive before they can demonstrate their abilities). Karthikeyan did not show any kind of dramatic ability as we've seen from great drivers (even when they were stuck in poor cars). Time will tell which group Chandhok falls in. >who gets benefitted in F1, the driver or the team or FIA. The drivers get their chance to drive. The teams get what they want (or they get a new driver) - be it a driver capable of results or a driver capable of providing needed funding. FIA doesn't really fit into the driver selection equation other than being the body that governs the sport.
