- Tubular Steel Frame vs. Fiberglass Racing Seat?
I am looking into getting a racing seat, such as the MOMO T-Club or the MOMO Super Cup. Just reading the specs, the T-Club weighs 18.9 lbs and is the steel-framed while the Super Cup weighs 18.7 lbs and is fiberglass. Both look exactly the same. Besides the weight difference, would there be a comfort difference between the two?
A The Fiberglass may give a little for stretching but I doubt that is what you'll want when crashing. Look up Nascar on Speed TV.com and ask an expert for a real opinion.

hi im building 1975 chevy vega.12 point roll cage.sbchevy engine,400 tranny.only interior will be front racing seats. fiberglass rear hatch.question is what should i expect it to weigh?have found weight of factory vega however with all the changes made to car not sure.3000 lb maybe?thanx for your help
A A stock Chevy Vega (from the 70's) did NOT weigh 3000 lbs !!! My Buick Century weighs 3000 lbs. and the Vega is a LOT smaller. With all of your mods it would weigh close to the original stock weight. Stripping out the interior and a fiberglass hatch will be offset by the weight of a 350 (?) with a turbo 400 transmission. Vegas had an aluminum engine. If you stripped off the head, you could easily lift up a Vega engine with your bare hands. If someone put a gun to my head, my best guess would be around 2300 lbs for a Vega.
