- what are some racing seat companys?
i need some reliable racing seats for my Porsche 944 and i want good quality seats. something i don't want is a company's logo or signature on the seats. list all company's you can think of that make racing seats.

A Short of custom upholstery, you'll probably have a hard time avoiding a logo or a name on the seat (logo may be absent or least noticeable if leather is offered). Also, construction quality can vary quite a bit from the high end offerings to the lesser offerings in race shells (ie, there is a difference between a $3000 seat and a $300 one): Recaro Sparco Corbeau Cobra Kirkey Momo OMP Racecraft Racetech Bride If you are planning to side mount the seats, you may need to fabricate new rails (on the stock rails/sliders for most older Porsches, side mount will actually sit higher than the stock seats, which can already be a little on the high side). Some shells though can also use bottom mounts. If you are simply looking for sports seats, the OEM/stock sliders and mounts should be fine (the stock seats in just about all Porsches are Recaros, and Recaros will generally have the best fit).

A There are some things I don't mind skimping on when it comes to things on a car. However, safety is not one of them. Things not to go cheap on in a car: - Seats - Seat belts/harnesses - Brakes If you really truly want good racing seats, buy racing seats, not some ebay "universal" unrated seats that have no safety information what so ever. If you want a good legit seat that fits in the 944, the Sparco EVO seats fit very well and they are quite comfortable for the 944. They are ALSO FIA rated, meaning if you want to race the car on a track they will pass with local sanctions since they meet the qualifications and come certified. The best part of that is at least you have the satisfaction of knowing your seats will withstand a crash if stuff goes bad. Where were they tested? How were they tested? How safe were they? Ah... yes, we don't know... because they were generically made and then passed off as racing seats. I bought brackets for a 944 on my Sparco Evo seats and ended up putting them in my 924 (which required different brackets, but has the same interior setup) and they are super comfortable. Fit and hug nicely. But generic universal fit seats? I wouldn't be caught dead putting those in my car. Your safety is important.
